Carl Straumsheim's post for Inside Higher Ed, "Out of the Ashes," focuses on Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. The post describes a recent turnaround in enrollment and some of the programs and partnerships that will serve as a foundation for the institution's future. Straumsheim interviewed W. Joseph King, who will be taking over as the institution's new president, and members of the faculty and the board of trustees. Lyon was founded in 1872 and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The college currently enrolls just over 700 students and Batesville had a population of 10,248 in 2010.
