Nebraska Christian College and Hope International University agree to Merge

The boards of trustees for Nebraska Christian College (NCC) and for Hope International University (HIU) announced in early October 2015 that they each have approved the merger of the institutions.  The action will be completed in 2016 pending approval of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

NCC is located in Papillion, Nebraska and enrolled 136 undergraduate students during the last academic year.  The institution was initially founded in 1945 in Norfolk, Nebraska.

HIU is located in Fullerton, California and had an enrollment of 1,329 students.  Eight hundred fifty-six (856) were undergraduates.  HIU was founded in 1928 as Pacific Bible Seminary.  It was located in Long Beach, CA from 1936-1973 before moving to the present location.  The institution achieved accreditation in 1963 and changed the name to Pacific Christian College.  The name was changed again in 1993 to Hope International University.
