Beacon College Transforms a Train Station into space for Students and the Community

The February 2016 issue of University Business includes an article by Lauren Williams that features the transformation of a train station by Beacon College into a student center.  The building is leased from the city of Leesburg, FL and now includes spaces for a fitness center, computer lab, and public space for community arts programs.

Beacon College was founded in 1989 and markets itself as the first institution of higher education in the country accredited to award bachelor degrees exclusively to students with learning disabilities, ADHD and other learning differences.  The institution enrolls approximately 300 students and anticipates reaching 500 students in the near future.
